In this webinar, Piper Sandler’s Chief Global Economist, Nancy Lazar, and Weiss’s Jordi Visser revisit their discussion on inflation following June’s CPI print. In June of last year, Jordi argued that inflation was not transitory, and in fact, here to stay due to a number of different structural factors such as the severe supply issue in housing, energy and labor. However, since then, Jordi has shifted his tone to that of a deflationista with debt, demographics and exponential innovation acting as the major contributors. Unlike last year, Jordi believes we are at peak YOY CPI with the current backdrop in the economy leading to a much different 2H2022.
